One of the leaders in a client firm that we’ve had the honor of working with overheard this speech recently on Radio 4, where Henry Stewart, CEO of Happy Ltd and one of the most influential business thinkers in the world, was giving a speech titled, “Choose Your Boss”.
Towards the end of the article he quotes some research that says:
The top 3 attributes of the best managers that people would choose themselves are not:
– being the most technically gifted strategists (No.8),
– nor being Visionary (No.7),
– nor being a great communicator (No.5).
The top 3 were:
No. 3 – Shows an interest in me (CARE)
No. 2 – Empowers me (GROWTH)
No. 1 – Coaches me (GROWTH)
