Schuitema Vision for Change

One of my favorite quotes from an Ancient philosopher is the quote by a guy called Heraclitus who said, among other things, that life is not being but is instead coming to be. This sounds weird but it makes sense if we think about it.

What Heraclitus is talking about is the obvious fact that everything around us is constantly changing. If we think about it nothing ever really stays the same. Heraclitus used that the metaphor that you never step into the same river twice because every time you step into it, it is will always be different, it would have changed in some way.

Just like a river, we are constantly changing. Etsko Schuitema says that we are process. What he means is that there isn’t much about us that stays the same. We aren’t solid ans discrete things, we are changeable and “flowing” things.

In any case we can’t deny that our lives change. Sometimes our lives change for the better and sometimes they appear to change for the worse. The beautiful thing about human beings however is that we can be the authors of change. If we don’t like something we can set a process in motion to turn it into its opposite.

This is not only true for individuals but is also true for organisations, businesses and corporates. Many organisations these days are not in a healthy position. They need not stay that way though. They can embrace change and submit themselves to a process that will get them to a place they are happy with.

It is absolutely essential when undergoing change to take control of the change process. We need to set things up in such a way that we do indeed achieve the change we were hoping to achieve. Part of this involves envisioning the end goal. You want to envision the place you wan the change to take you to. This exercise will give you the resources to put together a process plan that will get you there. You can then focus solely on the process and let the change unfold naturally.

Here at Schuitema Human Excellence Group we did precisely that. We want to ensure that we guide the natural change process so that it delivers us somewhere we will be proud of. In line with this we put together our vision for the future of Schuitema which we are proud to share.

A Big THANK you to Jenny Leclezio for facilitating this and to Faique Fakir for putting this together!

Congratulations to Schuitema”s attractive visual vision for change.

It looks fresh and very up-to-date, and most importantly in line with the changes happening in organisations today.
